Abios and GRID aim to ‘unlock full potential’ of esports betting

Kambi’s esports subsidiary Abios has secured backing for its esports data feeds from GRID Esports, utilising its new partner’s Data Platform to support odds generation.

The partnership will enable Abios to integrate GRID’s portfolio of esports titles including Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Dota 2 and Valorant alongside official game data assets, which will be provided to Abios’ B2C partners.

Additionally, GRID’s official data will be used to power automated, proprietary odds products, real-time data, in-house integrity services and proprietary modelling capabilities.

Abios states that these features will offer live markets with higher uptime and higher automation in odds models and enable the firm to increase its coverage for premium features such as same-game parlays, player propositions and flash markets.

Oskar Fröberg, Founder and CEO of Abios, Kambi Group, said: “Working with official esports data industry leaders is essential to unlocking the full potential of the esports betting market.

“The real-time data provided by GRID is crucial to be able to build and offer cutting edge products. The best end user experiences and most competitive products will be built on official data and as such we at Abios and Kambi look forward to building on top of the GRID portfolio.”

Lastly, Abios will shore up its data-based esports models and technology with GRID data from official sources, with the later maintaining deals with rights holders such as Riot Games, KRAFTON, WePlay Studios or PGL.

The duo have set out a goal of providing sportsbooks ‘within and beyond’ the Kambi network with an esports solution to strengthen the customer experience for esports bettors. Abios has been broadening its reach over the past year, reaching milestones such as launching a CS:GO-focused odds service and securing a five-year B2B licence in Sweden.

Mikael Westerling, Chief Sales Officer at GRID, added: ”We are looking forward to integrating our official data into the Kambi’s ecosystem and support their offering with the GRID’s data feeds, esports-specialised technology and integrity services.

“The unique value coming from the scale of Kambi’s network, visionary approach, and the Abios’ products capabilities have been continuously impressing us at GRID, and we are committed to ensure their products can thrive powered by GRID data.”
