Light & Wonder upgrades open gaming with long-standing partner Betsson

Light & Wonder has built on its long-standing relationship with Betsson Group in order to reach new markets globally.

The deal, said to be ‘opening a window of exciting new opportunities’, will ensure a continuation of Light & Wonder and various third-party content made available via the OPENGAMING System (OGS).

It also gives the European operator a ‘significant increase’ in content available across all existing and newer markets that it currently operates in or is about to enter.

Betsson’s Head of Supplier Relations, Laura Peretta, said: “Light & Wonder has been our trusted supplier since the early days of our journey within igaming. We followed a similar path of market entries when the landscape was shifting, and they have always been there for us.”

Light & Wonder has been providing content to Stockholm-listed, Malta-based Betsson Group for several years, with the new agreement described as a ‘milestone’ for the American group.

Peretta continued: “Their OpenGaming ecosystem guarantees expertise, scalability, and exceptional content delivery. We are delighted that we can continue the strong partnership and hold high expectations for our shared future.”

The OpenGaming ecosystem delivers over 3,500 games from a global network of in-house and third-party game studios.

All games available through OpenGaming are supported with a range of responsible gambling tools.

“We view Betsson Group as an important operator that has shown commitment and trust to Light & Wonder over many years,” added Magdalena Podhorska-Okolow, MD Europe at Light & Wonder.

“The fact that the agreement has been renewed solidifies the group’s plans to view us as a key growth partner. We work hard to understand Betsson Group’s trajectory and to ensure that we are the go-to partner for them to achieve their ambitions.”

This week, Betsson also formed an agreement with PA Betting Services (PABS) for the supply of horse racing content into online sportsbooks.

The bookmaker will now receive editorial content for domestic horse racing, including race verdicts, comments, and tips delivered through PABS’ distribution platform.
