Delasport has confirmed that it will continue to serve as the principal sponsor of the Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL / Balkan League).
The Malta and Sofia-based online sports betting and casino technology supplier became the principal sponsor of the Balkan League in 2020, helping resurrect the basketball league from its COVID-19 2019/2020 season postponement.
Established in 2008, the Balkan League is a FIBA-recognised pan-national professional basketball competition that sees the leading pro clubs from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, and Israel compete to be crowned the best Balkans’ basketball team.
“The Sponsorship of the Balkan league is a natural step for us as sports is embedded in our DNA, and we are passionate about it,” said Oren Cohen Shwartz, Delasport’s CEO.
“At Delasport’s, we embrace sport values like professionalism, excellence, and dedication, we love sport, and it is great to collaborate with the Balkan League. We wish all the teams a great season.”
The Balkan League begins its 2021-22 season on 12 October and will feature 11 Balkan basketball teams competing in over 90 matchdays.
Delasport returns to duties as lead sponsor of the Balkans League, coverage of which will be significantly expanded with all games broadcast on the BIBL YouTube channel and across the national networks of Bulgaria, Kosovo, and Israel.
“We are delighted to be working with Delasport, such a high-profile sponsor,” said BIBL sports director Shay Shtriks.
“We can expand and establish a minor league and spread the love of sport further by working together. We are all striving for professionalism, and this sponsorship takes things to a new level.”
