Parimatch launches ‘epic’ Conor McGregor campaign

International betting operator Parimatch has launched its latest marketing campaign with former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor

McGregor, who doubles as a Parimatch brand ambassador, is one of the world’s most recognisable combat sports athletes and sees himself centre in a campaign which has been named “A new epic story.”

The campaign, which was created by Canadian director Angelo Merten and French cameraman Charlie Bravo, features 15 action shots of the former UFC champion in a wide variety of situations which can also be seen on billboards across the CIS region.

Parimatch CEO Sergey Portnov commented: “It is impossible to put Conor’s personality into words, and also impossible to remain indifferent to him. In his advertising campaign for Parimatch he was true to himself – unpredictable and brutal, but always reliable and charged to win.”

McGregor, who signed a two-year personal endorsement deal with Parimatch in February,  will now collaborate on promotional content and consumer activations across the CIS region with fellow sports stars such as Boxing legend Mike Tyson, UFC fighters Alexey Oleyni and Petr Yan as well as the Shevchenko sisters.

The new campaign follows on from the Irishman’s first trip to Ukraine in October, in which he attended a Parimatch press conference where he stated he is likely to return to the UFC in January with both Justin Gaethje and Donald Cerrone being touted as possible opponents – this is yet to be officially confirmed by UFC.

Moreover, the promotion follows on from Parimatch benefitting from the elevated exposure garnered as a result of the UFC’s Moscow event, in which the firm’s branding featured prominently during its global broadcasting.
