FTSE250 bookmaker William Hill will move to a new multi-brand operating structure, focusing on delivering long-term international digital growth, led by new asset Mr Green’s Malta hub.
Operating an expanded portfolio which has absorbed the brands of Mr Green, RedBet and further acquired igaming domains, William Hill has established a new Malta ‘integrated team’ leading expansions across established European and emerging territories.
The Malta integrated unit will be led by Patrick Jonker William Hill’s International Managing Director, who assume the title of Mr Green Malta CEO, heading up the existing Malta leadership team.
Appointed as William Hill international MD Patrick Jonker commented: “Mr Green is a successful business and I am looking forward to working with the team to maximise the growth potential of our leading brands and products.”
Moving to complete its takeover of MRG Group assets, William Hill further informs that MRG Chief Executive Per Norman will be leaving Mr Green’s executive team as MRG completes its delisting from the Stockholm Nasdaq exchange.
William Hill will, however, continue to benefit from Per Norman’s experience and expertise as Chairman of the GLHF.gg Joint Venture which is focussed on the fast-growing eSports market.
Commenting on the executive changes Per Norman said: “The strategic and logic of the acquisition is obvious, strong brands and size are prerequisites for future success. I am excited to be engaged and follow the William Hill group through my board position in GLHF.”
As communicated in previous updates, the FTSE firm’s enlarged group digital strategy will be led by former Betsson AB Chief Executive Ulrik Bengtsson as Chief Digital Officer, who commented on initiatives;
“We are making a small number of senior changes but otherwise we aim to allow Mr Green to continue to do what it does best and grow internationally. We are very pleased that the Group will continue to benefit from the experience of Per Norman and Jesper Kärrbrink in exciting joint ventures in esports and game development. Patrick Jonker will lead the Malta team as it targets international growth opportunities.”
