Stockholm-listed online gambling group MRG (formerly Mr Green & Co) has confirmed the appointment of Niklas Grawé as Chief Executive of its upcoming esports entertainment joint-venture with games publisher Gamingzone.

Niklas GrawéA seasoned media and telecoms executive, Grawé takes leadership of the yet to be named joint venture, and will be tasked with building a new community of esports fans focusing on ‘entertainment, news and gaming possibilities.’

Confirming the appointment of Grawé, MRG details that it has found the ideal executive to launch its new enterprise working alongside Gamingzone. As Chief Commercial Officer of 3 Telecoms Sweden, Grawé has prior experience in developing end-to-end consumer proposition, having been responsible for the launch of Swedish mobile network Hallon.

“Our ambition is to create a community where all esports fans love to spend time.”In H1 2018, MRG governance confirmed that it had entered a joint-venture agreement with games publisher Gamingzone, seeking to launch its first esports centric commercial property.
