GVC Holdings’ online bingo subsidiary GalaBingo.com has confirmed that it has extended its partnership with UK charity 52 Lives.
The online bingo operator has been a partner of 52 Lives since 2016, the charity which aims to change a peoples lives every week by ‘spreading kindness and generosity’.
Recent examples include raising £3,000 for a homeless family to put a deposit on a flat and providing a hot tub for a young boy with chronic Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to have hydrotherapy at home. Entering its fifth year of operation, over 160 people have been helped by 52 Lives so far.
Commenting on the partnership, Karina Adrian, PR and Brand Partnership Manager at GalaBingo.com, said: “We first came across 52 Lives when founder Jaime Thurston appeared on ITV’s ‘Surprise Surprise’ and we immediately felt that 52 Lives’ strategy of people coming together to spread kindness and happiness was a perfect match for the GalaBingo.com ‘Play Happy’ mantra.
“Being part of a supportive community is a huge part of GalaBingo.com’s offering, and something our players really value. It‘s great that they can contribute towards this worthy cause simply by playing certain games.”
GalaBingo.com supports its charity partner, by hosting ‘52 Lives Charity Games’ every day at 7:30 pm.
To date, the partnership has raised £160,000 through the games as well as donations from players. 100% of profits go to the charity.
Backing GalaBingo.com’s continued support, 52 Lives founder Jaime Thurston also commented on the renewal:
“I am delighted to renew 52 Lives’ partnership with GalaBingo.com and continue spreading kindness in both big and small ways to the people that need it most right here in the UK. We started 52 Lives because we believe that if we all come together, we can change lives and change the world. It has been great to see how the Gala community has got stuck into this challenge, while having some lighthearted fun playing bingo!”
