Playtech ends quarterly FTSE reporting

FTSEUpdating the market FTSE 250 listed gambling technology provider Playtech Plc has announced that it will no longer issue updates on its corporate performance for first and third yearly quarters.

The decision taken by Playtech governance will see the firm issue market updates on a half year performance basis.

Playtech Plc’s decision to limit its corporate reporting follows the same route as numerous premium listings on the London Stock Exchange, who have opted to update stakeholders and investors on a six-month basis.

The gambling suppliers move is in-line with FTSE policy and recent recommendations made by the UK investment Association (UKIA) that have encouraged larger PLC firms to change their reporting policy in order to attract long term investors.

Entering 2016, cash rich Playtech has been at the centre of speculation regarding further potential industry consolidation, as various business news source report that Playtech governance are keen to acquire assets, with sports betting technology provider Openbet and virtual games supplier Inspired Gaming touted as potential targets.
