Coral Interactive, the digital gaming division of the Gala Coral Group, has continued its focus on strengthening its interactive portfolio with the announcement that it has acquired multi-channel casino games provider Cool Games.
Oldham-based Cool Games was founded in 2004 by Andrew Todd, an experienced gambling software developer who had previously designed games for slot manufacturer Barcrest. Cool Games’ acquisition sum had not been disclosed by the Gibraltar based operator.
Cool Games boasts a portfolio of more than three hundred online casino games and Coral Interactive had been an inventory client of the developer prior to the purchase. The acquisition of the games developer will see Coral bring in-house game development to their igaming operations. Cool Games is now set to exclusively develop casino and slot based games for Coral Interactive via desktop and mobile devices.
In recent months, the igaming industry has seen stronger focus from established players to bring game and product development in house, with a view to increase innovation and stop operator reliance on network technologies. This includes operators such as Unibet Plc, which has launched its new poker product designed in-house , and Irish sports betting operator Paddy Power, which purchased development studio Cayetano Gaming in 2011 and can now boast its own exclusive games.
