Czech betting content firm Oddin.gg is getting ready for the start of the National Hockey League (NHL) season with the launch of a new product.
The Prague-based company has launched eHockey, a round-the-clock, head-to-head ice hockey product encompassing 1,600 studio-produced matches a month.
As is with other Oddin.gg products, eHockey is built with fast-paced betting content in mind, with matches made short, frequent, and played by real people in a studio.
Betting opportunities are provided by trading and risk management services from Oddin.gg’s in-house team. The same format will be rolled out for the eFootball (NFL) and eBasketball (NBA).
“Every one of these titles adds a few thousand matches a month, and that is the point,” said Marek Suchar, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Oddin.gg. “Operators aren’t short of content on a Champions League night.
“They’re short of it on a Monday afternoon, and that’s where a sportsbook’s engagement numbers are decided. We’re building a catalog that makes those hours worth opening the app for, wherever the operator is.”
Oddin.gg has also worked to make sure the new product is as internationally available as possible. The product schedule does not depend on any league’s calendar, to provide an NHL betting experience to fans who do not live the time zone the league is taking place in.
Esports betting remains Oddin.gg’s bread and butter. The firm recently published the second edition of its Esports Betting Review, taking a look at betting trends across major titles like Counter Strike 2, Dota 2 and League of Legends.
It is also finding ways to bridge the gap between traditional and esports, however, such as with its eHockey release and subsequent plans for American football and basketball.
“Between April and August, eTouchdown handle grew 16-fold before a single regular-season snap,” said Pete Camden, Director of Fast Betting Content at Oddin.gg.
“That showed us football demand doesn’t switch off in February. eHockey applies the same logic to hockey: a format nobody needs explained to them, available around the clock.”
