BetStars launches $1 million fantasy sports promotion

The BetStars Sports Jackpot is the latest by way of promotion from BetStars and it’s putting $1 million (£815,000) into it.

Following the ‘Spin & Bet’ feature last year, it’s the latest attempt at trying something different from Amaya, the company behind BetStars, and this time it focuses on fantasy sports. The new game is described as: “A reimagined sports betting experience that combines the best of fantasy football with daily, real-money tournaments and life-changing $1 million jackpot prizes.”

This is a major win for the wider daily fantasy sports industry with the bulk of major bookmakers having been reluctant to commit to DFS and give it a real try so far. One million dollars is a bold statement by Amaya, and with Paf recently establishing a deal with a DFS partner, it’s likely more will now follow suit.

Amaya acquired StarsDraft, formerly Victiv, in 2015. Matthew Primeaux, CEO, StarsDraft said: “Our team is excited to work with the fast-growing BetStars brand to further the mission of bringing much needed innovation to the sports betting market. With BetStars Sports Jackpots, there’s no easier way for punters and casual sports fans alike to turn a small bet into a big win.”

The way this particular DFS game will work is that a user must pick the players that they believe will score the most fantasy points on a match day or weekend. It’s not limited to football and players will be able to take part in these BetStars Sports Jackpots in certain competitions in football, golf, and basketball.

BetStars Managing Director Zeno Ossko said: “Football fans will be able to enjoy an added sweat by complementing sportsbook action with BetStars Sports Jackpots. It’s a fun, quick, and easy way to get the thrill of fantasy sports without having to commit to a whole season.”
