Responding to news reports that it had closed down its eSports market, bookmaker Ladbrokes has stated that it will continue to take bets on the vertical.

The bookmaker moved to clear up industry rumours that it had shut down its eSports market, following reports by esportsbettingreport.com that eSports would no longer be offered as a market.

Ladbrokes detailed that the rumours of its eSports closure had been a miscommunication between the news source and its customer support services. The bookmaker stated that its eSports market had been temporarily closed in order to carry out improvements to the vertical.

Contacting SBC, Alex Donohue, PR Manager and Head of Ladbrokes News, commented on the matter:

“We have been in the process of upgrading our eSports product. At no point have we decided to stop taking these bets, and we will shortly have more markets available to all our customers.”
