From interviews with Better Collective’s American dream team to inside the world of affiliate fraud, issue five of Affiliate Leaders’ has it covered,
The latest edition of the Affiliate Leaders’ magazine is out now, featuring interviews with Better Collective’s co-founders, deep dives into affiliate fraud and analysis into new marketing strategies.
The big theme permeating issue five is how the affiliate landscape is evolving at an unprecedented rate.
Better Collective’s Jesper Søgaard and Christian Kirk Rasmussen – the cover feature – talk to Affiliate Leaders on the challenges they’ve experienced as they expand to the US.
Last year was arguably a tough year for the firm, which saw its earnings decline. The pair admit to many “sleepless nights” as they slowed down parts of the business, rebalanced, and navigated economic and industry headwinds.
On the M&A front, Ted Menmuir analyses what Genius Sports’ acquisition of Legend means and how it compares to its competitor, Sportsradar.
He discusses how the two sports data and technology companies have moved downstream to the customer funnel and are now giant marketing media groups. In turn, this has forced the pricing dynamics of media and marketing to dramatically change.
From a broader perspective, Erin Gallagher examined how the affiliate landscape is consolidating. Established players are acquiring smaller traditional sites, data platforms and entire portfolios – they are repositioning themselves as adtechs and marketing agencies.
While this evolution reflects a natural maturation of the industry, it also raises the question of whether smaller affiliates can survive in this new ecosystem?
Affiliate marketing can no longer be just a silo channel. More and more, gaming and sportsbetting marketers are adopting social media, influencer and even gamification as a way to drive engagement.
In fact, the lines between gaming, e-commerce and financial services are blurring – something which Ted Orme-Claye explores in his analysis.
Finally, issue fives sees the introduction of some new regular features in the magazine. The first is an interview series called ‘Affiliate anatomy’ and for the inaugural article, Jyoti Rambhai speaks to impact.com’s Anthony Clements on his career in affiliate marketing.
Other features include a tech stack audit, where Affiliate Leaders’ leading marketing experts on their top five software and platforms they can’t live without; plus a marketing masterclass series, which looks at the success stories and lessons learnt.
