iGaming operator Betfred yesterday announced publicly that its online sports betting and igaming operations would no longer accept registrations/sign ups from Australian user IP’s. Betfred yesterday sent communications to Australian customers and to media partners operating in the region.
The communications sent out by Betfred commented that the igaming operator wanted to comply with new Australian regulations regarding online gaming. It is firmly believed that Betfred will enter the regulated Australian market, as the company looks to gain a Northern Territory License.
Betfred recently appointed the Luke Brill as MD of Betfred Australia, Brill is the former Head of Marketing at Centrebet to oversee operations in the region in May 2013. Brill has been tasked with setting up regional offices for Betfred in Australia.
