Sportradar lands in Brazil’s São Paulo

Sportradar has opened a new office in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, as part of its strategic expansion plans for the LatAm region.

With Brazil expected to launch its regulated market in January 2025, experts project double digit GGR growth, from the 18.4bn BRL ($3.18bn) in 2023 to 50.5bn ($8.75bn) in 2029.

By opening its São Paulo office, Sportradar will be able to tap into this growth and facilitate deeper corporate relationships with regional players.

The firm has already been active in Brazil, working with sports betting operators and supplying them with AI-driven fan engagement solutions that drive scalability. It has guided regional sports federations across football, volleyball, and basketball towards monetising their data and safeguarding sporting integrity.

Sportradar also has ongoing formal working agreements with Brazil’s Federal Police and the Ministry of Finance.

The São Paulo office brings the total number of Sportradar offices to 28 across 22 countries in five continents, and builds on a partnership network spanning over 800 operators, 400 sports leagues, and 900 media companies.

Eduard Blonk, Chief Commercial Officer, Sportradar, said: “We have already established a strong business foundation in Brazil and see immense growth opportunity, driven by its large population and widespread popularity of sports, in particular football, an area in which we excel globally.

“Furthermore, our commitment to preserving the integrity of Brazilian sports underscores Sportradar’s broader mission to foster a responsible and sustainable industry operating within a regulated environment.”
