SavageTech seeks to upload the World of Warcraft for sportsbooks

Berlin-based esports innovation studio SavageTech has announced the launch of the first dedicated gamification platform for esports wagering audiences.

Led by entrepreneur Tom Lemke, SavageTech aims to deliver customised esports gamification solutions to help partners unlock the value of sports betting’s fastest-growing segment.

Lemke, the founder of Germany’s biggest esports teams, Mousesports and BiG, views SavageTech as his latest venture to turbo-charge esports markets for online bookmakers, particularly by driving engagement with Gen-Z audiences.

He explained: “Gen Y and Z customers are proving to be an elusive demographic for the gambling industry to onboard and retain. Basically, they find betting boring, and research shows that 85% churn on their second deposit.”

“Even the best-designed sportsbooks look like coloured spreadsheets to these generations. These players are gamers – 80% of them game for at least one hour a day. They crave instant gratification and entertainment – they want to play games.”

SavageTech has developed a series of gamification modules that plug into online gambling platforms to help bolster the promotion of esports markets while improving customer loyalty and conversion from marketing campaigns.

Launched as an instant plug-and-play solution, SavageTech offers partners direct esports modules offering “integrated bonus rewards, quest-based cross-sale opportunities, and community building with social leaderboards.”

The Berlin studio is driven by its mission statement to “upload the World of Warcraft on top of a gambling platform .”

As such, SavageTech envisions delivering first-of-its-kind Gen-Z engagements to sportsbooks, where users can create their own avatars, battle baddies, win loot, and progress through the game by wagering real money on the integrated platform.

Launching SavageTech, Lemke concluded: “SavageTech allows existing platforms to engage players using the same techniques as mobile games and social casinos. It’s a simple solution to instantly add gamification, meaning players grow attached to platforms and become loyal customers.

“It also allows platforms to transform gambling into a multiplayer experience, where players become part of a fun and thriving community. Not only can they compete and engage with each other, but they also build bonds that enable next-level product loyalty.”
