Esports odds provider Abios, a wholly–owned subsidiary of Kambi, has published a leaderboard for 2023 that includes data and insights from the Kambi Network, highlighting the most important esports titles, leagues and markets based on betting turnover in 2023.

The leaderboard features the most popular teams to bet on; the most popular leagues; the most popular markets/bet offers; live and pre-game split; and the games that are most popular by region. It also delivers actionable insights from Abios Founders Oskar Bonnevier Fröberg and Anton Janér, as well as Abios’ Head of Sales Niclas Sundell.

Confirming the release of the leaderboard, Fröberg commented: “Abios’ ambition remains to facilitate the growth of esports. We release insights and data like this to strengthen decision-makers and leaders looking to enter or make sense of esports.”

The leaderboard shows that most prominent esports titles have seen significant growth in 2023. League of Legends saw 6.4 million in peak viewership, a figure outlined by a 25% YoY growth. Counter-Strike, meanwhile, saw several subsequent records tied to their player base ahead of the release of CS2. At its highest point, Counter-Strike saw 1.8 million concurrent players in 2023.

The report highlights Counter-Strike’s prominent position as the leading title in betting, with further insights into the most popular bet offers, the geographical split of esports titles and much more.

Underlining the significance of the leaderboard, Sundell stated: “As esports continues to mature and become an integrated part of any modern online sports betting offering, it is essential for sportsbooks and other industry leaders to understand what products and services esports fans are looking for.

Abios Leaderboard 2023 outlines how Counter-Strike dominates the esports betting scene while highlighting betting habits across games, markets and regions.”
