bet365 ups Manchester presence by revamping DevOPs division

bet365, the UK’s leading online bookmaker, is set to expand its Manchester operational capacity after confirming that it will launch a new DevOPs department.

In 2018, bet365 established a Manchester-based tech support office housed in the city’s Spring Gardens area, led by Warren Hughes the firm’s Head of Systems Development.

The bookmaker’s enlarged Manchester tech support unit will be operated by subsidiary Hillside Technology, tasked with forming a new bet365 ‘site reliability engineering‘ team.

Leading initiatives, Steven Briggs – Hillside Technology’s Head of DevOPS – told UK media that bet365 would establish a team of 70 engineers working between its Stoke HQ and Manchester hub, helping the company optimise its software delivery, core systems maintenance and improve all-round IT infrastructures.

Strengthening bet365’s tech and IT support, Briggs confirmed that a number of operational teams tasked with software maintenance, service delivery and incident management would be unified under the enlarged division ‘helping break technology silos that can hinder how end-to-end systems’ are managed.
