Supporting its corporate ambitions of becoming the global leader in online gambling B2C and B2B technology provisions, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has moved to restructure its executive technology leadership team.

This morning GiG governance confirms that appointment of Chris Armes as Chief Information Officer (CIO), joining the Stockholm-listed enterprise from rival SG Digital, where he formerly served as Chief Technology Officer.

Detailing a major ‘C-level appointment’, Armes the former CTO of SG Digital will be tasked with leading GiG’s multiple technology disciplines, as the company seeks to strengthen its position as an industry B2B services provider.

GiG governance details the appointment of Armes as a major coup for its strategic vision, securing an industry figurehead with experience in ‘more than 60 M&As’, having led technology divisions for SG Digital and global tech giant Oracle.

‘GiG is increasingly focusing on being value accretive for larger and more complex customers across the globe and Chris will ensure the robust and secure delivery of tech solutions to existing and new customers’ –  GiG governance details in its statement.

Armes commented on joining GiG executive leadership team – “This is an opportunity to truly innovate in a dynamic industry. I am looking forward to pushing the boundaries by leveraging new technologies and helping GiG to make a leap forward ahead of the competition.”

Backing the appointment of Armes as group technology lead, GiG has strengthened its department with a series of c-level management hires.

Supporting Armes as group technology lead, GiG confirms the appointment of former Betsson executive Jonathan Gauci as SVP of Technology.

GiG’s new executive technology team is completed by the appointment of Stephen Borg as Director of Data, joined by former Jackpotjoy IT-lead Jan Flores as Director of Production Operations.
