FTSE gambling technology group Playtech Plc has confirmed that it will expand and upgrade its existing lead supplier relationship with Central and Eastern European (CEE) betting group Fortuna Entertainment Group.
Updating the market, Playtech announces that Fortuna has approved the roll-out of its ‘IMS – player management platform’ to be integrated across its properties operating in the markets of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Croatia.
The systems upgrade sees Playtech become lead technology partner for Fortuna across all its operating markets, enhancing a partnership which began in 2016 servicing the Czech Republic and Romania.
Utilising Playtech systems and provisions, Fortuna saw a 93% increase in total stakes to just over €2 billion in 2017, driven primarily by online growth.
A pleased Shimon Akad, COO of Playtech, commented on the extended arrangement: “This is a significant agreement for Playtech and FEG. The extension and expansion of our partnership highlight both the success we’ve had and the further growth we see ahead. This is a perfect example of how Playtech technology leads the way when it comes to enabling operator growth across regulated markets, and a further reflection of our role as the infrastructure of the industry.”
Per Widerstrom, Group CEO of Fortuna Entertainment, backed the extension of Playtech as technology partner, as the CEE gambling group expands its profile and properties across new markets following a transformative 2018 incorporating the assets of Hattrick Sports Croatia and Fortbet Romania.
“When we first partnered with Playtech, we stated our aim was to become the leading betting and gaming operator in the CEE region,” said Widerstrom. “Having achieved this ambition, we will continue looking to grow and build our offer further in new and existing regulated markets.
“Our close partnership with Playtech will continue to be crucial in delivering on this strategy and delivering an industry leading omni-channel approach to our players.”
