Philippines National Bureau investigates Kambi over illegal gambling activities

philipinesSports betting technology and provisions provider Kambi has been served a notification by the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation into allegations relating to the firm carrying out of illegal gambling activities.

Kambi management released a corporate statement notifying the media that the company had received the notification, the technology provider denies any wrong doing with regards to its activities in the Philippines.

At present Kambi operates back-office technology teams from its office in Manila. In its corporate statement Kambi highlighted that the company was a member of the Government-run PEZA scheme (Philippine Economic Zone Authority), which incentivises businesses to operate on a fully transparent basis and to establish and run operations in compliance with Philippines business laws and regulations.

The Kambi corporate statement further commented

“Kambi complies with local laws and applies consistent global policies for its Group operations to abide by.Kambi has immediately implemented business continuity measures in accordance with its internal Group policies to ensure cover for the services provided by its Manila operation”.

Kambi management will update the market and investors as necessary regarding the investigation and its progress.
