NBA team The Cleveland Cavaliers have entered into a new partnership with New York based US fantasy sports operator FanDuel Inc, one of the market leaders in US fantasy sports entertainment

The new partnership comprises an integrated marketing agreement which will include FanDuel promotional player campaigns, including in-arena signage and an online presence, to create a heightened awareness of FanDuel during Cavaliers games at Quicken Loans Arena.

“The Cavs are pleased to welcome FanDuel as an exciting new official partner,” said Kerry Bubolz, Cavaliers President of Business Operations. “We look forward to a long-standing relationship with FanDuel as they continue to leverage themselves in the sports and entertainment industry as the leader in one-day fantasy sports leagues.”

As a part of the agreement, the Cavaliers and FanDuel will launch #FanDuelfortheWin Sweepstakes, where one lucky fan will win a Cavaliers VIP experience at an upcoming game. Fans will also have the chance to score big with various prizes including Cavs tickets, Cavs swag, autographed items and more via social media. Complete details will be announced at a later date.

“The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the most dynamic teams in the NBA, with passionate fans and an exciting roster,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO of FanDuel. “The Cavs fully align with FanDuel’s mission to make sports more exciting for basketball fans.”

In 5 September 2014, FanDuel announced that it had raised $70 million in its latest venture capital round. The Edinburgh founded fantasy sports game has received the majority of its latest backing from entertainment and media investment specialists Shamrock Capital.  Prior to the funding round, FanDuel inc had raised $18 million (11.05 million) in investment from multiple venture finance sources.
