SBC: Igaming to many people is still a mysterious and niche market. How did you personally enter the igaming space?

Dr L: I became involved in the Igaming industry  early on when I was approached for legal advice on cross-border gambling offers in the EU.

SBC: With so many technological innovations going on, how do you personally keep abreast of what changes are occurring?

Dr L: As a lawyer  in Germany I have industry insight from representing one of the world players in the Gaming & Betting industry.  I keep abreast of technological innovations and new legal developments by reading the industry magazines on the Internet as well as the regular updates I receive from the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), Besides, I also regularly attend  conferences with respect to Gaming and IT and get involved in technological discussions with governing bodies such as the EU.

SBC: SBC has just brought itself a brand new tablet computer, What kind of igaming tech advancements will I be able to see in the coming future?

Dr L: Virtual gambling engines and plug-ins which will enable game developers to incorporate gambling elements into social games; live casino games that can be played on any device anywhere  against real players; real money slots on any mobile device; neurogaming and neurogambling.

SBC: How is sports betting utilizing social media platforms. Can it become a good way to capture audiences and create real return?

Dr L: Sports betting on social media platforms is certainly an attractive option to capture new audiences; one must not overlook the fact, however, that wagering is considered as gambling in some European countries and may therefore be subject to national monopolies or special license requirements which  must be examined closely before entering a national market.

SBC: How social are you? Do you tweet, Poke, Digg, Hangout, Hashtag, Klout, lifecast or Mashup online?

Dr L:I am represented in business social networks such as Linkedin and Xing  and Google +  but have not moved out into the areas of tweets, pokes and co. yet for want of time.

SBC: As a technology expert how do you keep abreast of all the latest technology and social media abbreviations – SBC things its all rather confusing?

Dr L: Being German I have to learn the abbreviations in two languages , English and German and to do that I find internet sources in general and Wikipedia in particular a good research tool to turn to when reading the gaming and information technology specialist magazines in both language

SBC: As a technology whizz, what is your favourite piece of technology ever?

Dr L: The Oculus Rift.
