Twitch and FACEIT team up for the Esports Championship Series

Esports account for 21.3% of Twitch viewership

The latest data released by Newzoo shows that 21.3% of all hours watched on Twitch from July to December 2015 was esports content. Esports startup FaceIt raises $15m in Series A funding round

UK based esports startup FaceIt has raised $15m (£10.4m) in funding and has announced its expansion into the US by opening an office in Los Angeles. The company, which was funded in 2012, boasts over 3.5 million users on its multiplayer gaming platform. Deloitte has released its technology media telecommunications (TMT) forecast for 2016, and it makes for some interesting reading in regard to eSports.  It is estimated that as an industry it will grow by 25% and create global revenues of $500m (£346.8m) in 2016.
