ITIA examines betting Irregularities of Wimbledon matches

Two 2021 Wimbledon matches are under investigation after bookmakers flagged ‘possible irregular betting patterns’ to the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). According to German newspaper Die Welt, the probe is centred around a first-round singles match and a first-round men’s doubles match, which raised suspicion when a series of bets were placed. IBIA records a 48% increase in suspicious betting for 2020

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has recorded a 48% increase in suspicious betting reports from 2019 to 2020, with a 25% increase in football alone. In total 270 cases were reported, spanning 43 countries and 15 different sports, with 68 occurring in the first quarter. ITIA launches new website for tennis integrity stakeholders
