Flutter Entertainment has announced the appointment of Christine McCarthy and Robert Bennett to the Board of Directors.
As of 30 July 2024, McCarthy – described as an ‘accomplished entertainment executive’ – will sit on the Audit Committee. Meanwhile, Bennett will serve as a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee.
John Bryant, Chair of the Flutter Board, commented: “Christine and Dob’s extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be an invaluable asset to Flutter as we continue to extend our leading position as a global online sports betting and igaming provider.”
McCarthy has held several senior leadership positions at The Walt Disney Company during her tenure, most recently as a Strategic Advisor.
She joined Disney in 2000, first asSenior Vice President and Treasurer, and also served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Real Estate, Alliances and Treasurer, prior to her role as CFO.
Moreso, she currently serves as a director of The Procter & Gamble Company and is the Chair of its Audit Committee and is a director of FM Global and the Chair of its Finance Committee.
Furthermore, Bennett is the Managing Director of private investment company, Hilltop Investments, LLC. He previously served as President of Discovery Holding Company, a media and entertainment company and as President and Chief Executive Officer and Principal Financial Officer, at Liberty Media Corporation.
He has also been a Director of Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., Sprint Corporation, Demand Media, Inc., Discovery Holding Company, Liberty Interactive Corporation and Sprint Nextel Corporation.

In May, the company reported that it had maintained growth momentum and market share upturn across key territories, ahead of relocating its primary shareholding on the NYSE.
Publishing its Q1 2024 accounts, Flutter demonstrated group revenues of $3.4bn, up 16% on 2023 comparatives of $2.9bn, with results detailing that Flutter’s brand portfolio increased its average monthly players to 13.7m during the Q1 period.
