Codere SA has made its latest senior hire, appointing Sonia Carabante as Corporate Director of Commercial Strategy and Business Projects.
Carabante will report directly to Group CEO Gonzaga Higuero, and has been tasked with executing commercial and efficiency strategy projects while driving group growth.
Other areas of focus include transformation as Codere continues to consolidate its international position, as well as implementation of local strategies and projects across the multinational operator’s various markets.
A Codere statement read: “With this appointment, Codere reaffirms its commitment to excellence in its business strategy and its determination to drive growth and efficiency in all areas of the organisation.
“Sonia Carabante’s leadership and experience will be fundamental pillars for the company’s continued success in the competitive private gaming market.”
Codere has further highlighted the new hire’s ‘experience and specialised knowledge’, with Carabante set to contribute to the Bolsa Madrid group’s marketing, CRM and product development.
Carabante’s previous roles have included a tenure as Director of Customer Intelligence, Efficiency & Productivity at leading Spanish casino operator Cirsa, assuming the role in February 2019 after over a decade with the company before leaving in 2022.
She later worked as Executive Director of Corporate Services at the Centre for Telecommunications and Information Technologies (CITI) at the Generalitat of Catalonia in Barcelona.
The addition of Carabante to Codere’s senior management team comes just a couple of days after the appointment of Luis Villalba as the group’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This in turn came not long after Higuero was named CEO of the Spanish language market-focused group, which operates retail and online betting and gaming products across Spain and Latin America.
