Sportradar secures extension of integrity deal with Brazilian Football Confederation

Sportradar Integrity Services (SIS) has secured an extension of its contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) for a further three years.

The integrity unit of Nasdaq-listed sports data and technology firm Sportradar, SIS – which first partnered with the CBF in 2017 – will also provide bet monitoring of a wider range of Brazilian football tournaments via its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS).

Under the terms of the renewal, SIS will conduct monitoring of over 3,000 CBF sanctioned matches per year, across 27 state-level competitions, the Brasileiro U20 and Campeonato Brasileiro de Aspirantes.

SIS Managing Director, Andreas Krannich, said: “Having witnessed growing integrity issues across global sport in recent years, particularly in lower levels of competition and youth sport, it is commendable to see the importance the CBF place on preventative measures.

“Through this ongoing partnership, we look forward to continuing our work in a country with such a rich footballing history and future.”

Additionally, Sportradar will continue its existing monitoring activities of the third and fourth tier Série C and Série D leagues, whilst also assisting CBF investigations into integrity threats via its Intelligence and Investigations Services.

Lastly, the sportstech firm will also deliver educational services, including three live online integrity workshops per season with the goal of informing players, coaches, staff, referees and other stakeholders covering how match-fixing threats and other risks can be avoided.

The extension represents a further bolstering of Sportradar’s international sports integrity operations, building on agreements with football organisations such as CONMEBOL, FIFA, UEFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), whilst more recent deals have been clinched with Athletes Unlimited and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).

“Sportradar Integrity Services have been a valued and trusted partner of ours, with their UFDS bet monitoring providing vital insights into the betting activity on our competitions,” remarked Ednaldo Rodrigues, CBF Acting President.

“Extending this partnership helps to strengthen our mission to protect Brazilian football, and by adding their live integrity workshops, we will gain an extra layer of protection by ensuring that education is delivered on the integrity dangers facing our competitions.”
