Sportradar secures IBIA Data Standards Kitemark

Sportradar has earned recognition for its data-driven betting integrity operations, having secured the International Betting Integrity Association’s (IBIA) Data Standards Kitemark.

First launched in October of last year, the Data Standards Kitemark is a set of standards and guidelines relating to the collection of data for the purpose of protecting sporting integrity against betting corruption.

In issuing the Kitemark, described by the organisation as a ‘living document’, the IBIA intends to ‘continually assess and update to ensure that its recipients represent the highest levels of data collation’.

“At Sportradar, we are committed to delivering the most reliable and highest-quality data products to our customers and partners,” said Dr. Anja Martin, Chief Regulatory & Compliance Officer at Sportradar.

“We invest heavily in our quality control systems and processes, implementing the industry’s most stringent safeguards to ensure that the products presented to the downstream market are trustworthy. Receiving accreditation from the IBIA for its Data Standards Kitemark further substantiates Sportradar’s rigorous dedication to data quality, integrity and transparency.”

Newly Nasdaq-registered Sportradar secured the accreditation after an audit by eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance, an independent agency specialising in the testing, inspection and certification of online gambling software and systems.

The sports data and technology firm’s integrity safeguarding efforts have seen it operate five  data collection centres and partner with a number of organisations, most recently extending its contract with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and signing a new deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Commenting on Sportrdar’s certification, IBIA CEO Khalid Ali remarked: “We are excited to recognise Sportradar as our latest Data Standards Kitemark recipient. The IBIA developed the Standards and Kitemark to ensure that the collection and supply chain of sports data achieved the highest levels of transparency and accuracy.

“Companies like Sportradar that pass the audit have demonstrated robust internal procedures for the collation of sporting event data for betting. Accurate data collation reassures sports fans and bettors alike that the events they watch are fair, honest and performed at the highest competitive levels.”
