Titanbet.com operator Imperial E-Club Ltd has been issued a €200,000 (£158,000) fine by Kansspelautoriteit the Dutch gaming authority, under the grounds that the operator has been actively targeting Dutch consumers illegally without a Dutch gaming licence.
Kansspelautoriteit had issued the fine in February of this year, however Titanbet.com had attempted to gain an injunction from the Dutch federal courts in order to prevent the fine being publicised.
Sportsbook Titanbet.com plus associated casino brands casinotropez.com, Europacasino.com and VegasRed.com were found to be targeting Dutch consumers by offering Dutch language options on their portals and servicing Dutch language advertising.
Kansspelautoriteit revealed that it had been investigating Imperial E-Club ltd brands since June 2012. The investigated were found to accept Dutch consumer payments through PayPal Nederland payment processing services.
The €200,000 fine issued to Imperial E-Club Ltd, represents the largest fine issued to a single igaming operator by a gambling authority.
The Dutch gaming authority has publically stepped up its attempts to block unlicensed igaming operators from targeting Dutch Consumers.
In October of this year, Kansspelautoriteit had issued fines totalling €310,000 (£245,000) to Redcorp SA and Bluemay Enterprises NV for unlicensed online gambling activity. The regulator issued the fines with regards to the operations of 7red.nl casino and royaalcasino.nl actively advertising online gambling services to Dutch consumers
