Bacta has made updates to its bactaPortal, launching version two of the safer gambling platform, as it aims to strengthen the functionality and value of its offering.
The new version of the portal has been developed to include a customer interaction recording solution, self-exclusion options, a compliance handbook and ‘seamless compatibility’ across mobile, desktop and tablet verticals.
Additionally, the amusement and gaming machine industry trade association has also detailed that features for online training and age-verification are also under development, along with a business toolkit.
Russell Edge, Membership, Social Responsibility and Compliance Manager, said: “The Portal has received fantastic feedback since it was launched in September and we have stayed true to our promise to constantly update and review the content and add new functionality.
“I am proud to announce that Version 2 is now available to users and we will be demonstrating the many features at the upcoming EAG show in March.”
The bactaPortal functions as a solution for gambling venues to maintain paperless records of customer interactions, self-exclusions and other forms of important responsible gambling information.
Additionally, the platform – which is available to all forms of betting and gaming outlets, with bacta members gaining the service for a subsidised price – is also capable of hosting training modules.
“It is particularly exciting that we are working with other industry bodies to make some of their training modules and other applications available to bacta members over the Portal,” Russell added.
“We will be making further announcements on this in due course. In addition to the content itself, we have tweaked the user experience based on feedback. This means that users can log in quicker and navigate across features with fewer clicks.
“There are new animations and quicker filtering and error messages are clearer. This functionality all adds up to a slicker user experience.”
Bacta’s support for safer gambling has seen the body previously participate in the annual Safer Gambling Week alongside the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) and Bingo Association, whilst raising awareness of the amusement arcade industry’s interests ahead of the 2005 Gambling Act review judgement.
