FTSE250 betting group William Hill Plc is set to undertake a major US recruitment drive, as corporate governance details that the company has significantly expanded its presence within Mississippi and West Virginia.
On Friday, William Hill governance communicated that ‘subject to regulatory approval’, the company had agreed on lead sports betting supplier agreements with the following US casinos:
Hard Rock Casino Hotel & Casino Biloxi, Island View Casino Resort (Gulfport), Palace Casino (Biloxi), Treasure Bay Casino (Biloxi) and WaterView Casino (Vicksburg), in addition to six other casinos in Mississippi.
William Hill targets maintaining the biggest US sports betting presence ahead of the start of the NFL 2018/19 season (start date: 7 September 2018), with the company confident that it can deliver on its new casino betting partnerships this August.
Leading William Hill US, CEO Joe Asher seeks to significantly expand the bookmaker’s strategic divisions for technology development, operational support, compliance and human resources.
On Sunday, UK business news source City AM detailed that William Hill will announce a lead sports betting arrangement with casino and racetrack operator Penn National Gaming.
The rumoured partnership will see William Hill expand its US-footprint within 16 states and 29 gambling premises.
At present, William Hill governance has not commented on the speculation.
