Camelot revenues hit all time high thanks to digital uptake

nationallotteryUK national lottery operator Camelot, has detailed that its continued focus on optimising its digital channels has paid dividends as corporate revenues hit an all-time high of £7.6 billion.

The group revenue increase comes despite a slight ticket sales decrease in its draw-based games which recorded revenues of £4.6 billion for the 2014/15 financial period.

Camelot governance stated that it had offset the decline in ‘over the counter’ ticket sales by strengthening its online product portfolio, with its GameStore range of instant play games seeing a revenue rise of + £320 million to just under the £3 billion mark.

The operator which enters the half-way point of its UK national lottery services tenure detailed that it had raised £1.9 billion for good causes in 2015, taking the total raised since its foundation in 1994 to £35 billion.

Commenting on corporate performance Andy Duncan Chief Executive of Camelot, stated

“I’m delighted by the fantastic year we’ve had – especially across our digital channels. With our own world-leading mobile platform and over eight million registered online players, Camelot leads the field of digital lottery innovation.”
