Long-time serving Ladbrokes Head of Greyhound Trading Richard Harkness has revealed to the Racing Post that he has accepted a voluntary redundancy package leaving the operator after 16 years’ service.
Harkness’ departure is part of an ongoing restructure of Ladbrokes trading division, as the operator looks improve its automated market trades and IT infrastructure
Harkness one of Ladbrokes longest serving employees commented to the Racing Post on his departure
“I finished earlier this week, and whilst am sad to leave, I also see it as an opportunity. The company has being going through a series of restructures and period of massive change, with even more ahead given the proposed Coral merger. I was there for 24 brilliant years, and loved it all, but at the same time there’s plenty going on out in the rest of the world. After a short break, I intend to see what I might do next. I think change can be good for people.”
On behalf of Ladbrokes, PR Officer Alex Donohue said: “We’d like to thank Richard for his long service and we wish him all the very best for the future. We’ll never forget the last Derby final night and we’ll continue to cheer on team Rio too.”
