Sportium extends LFP betting partnership

sportiumLadbrokes and Grupo CIRSA Spanish gambling joint venture Sportium, has confirmed that it will extend its official betting partnership with the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (LFP), the governing body of the top two divisions of professional football in Spain (La Liga and the Segunda Division).

In October 2014 Sportium had been approved to become the official betting partner of La Liga. Following a review of marketing initiatives and coverage, Sportium governance announced that it would renew its partnership for a further two seasons (ending season 2016/2017).

Sportium will join Spanish bank BBVA and brewery Mahou, along with Chinese mobile manufacturer Huawei and Nike (official match ball supplier) as official partner to LFP Leagues.

Commenting on the extension of its partnership Sportium CEO Alberto Eljarrat stated

“This is great news for Sportium, who becomes a long-term partner of the LFP. The partnership will allow Sportium to consolidate its leadership in the Spanish sports betting market”.

Sportium management further confirmed that it would promote its betting services in accordance to LFP rules and regulations and that the operator would always promote safe and responsible gambling to the Spanish consumer.
