Canada’s TSN launches esports section

The Sports Network (TSN) is the biggest sports network in Canada meaning that the world of esports moves another rung up the ladder with the announcement that it has launched its own esports section. esports

Known as the ESPN of Canada, it’s hot on the heels of its US cousin, which itself recently committed itself to contributing dedicated esports content. Yahoo is another major media which has recently announced itself as entering the esports industry.

Content will be produced in both written and video form, with League of Legends, Dota 2, Call of Duty and CS:GO mentioned specifically on the site’s statement concerning the launch. It also noted that other titles would be covered, with unique features, insight and interviews making up the content alongside news.

There is already extensive coverage of the most recent major tournaments on TSN; the IEM Katowice and the Shanghai Majors.

A statement on the site read: “With streaming services like Twitch and live events being held all over the world, competitive gaming has never been more alive. TSN esports intends to satisfy the cravings of our audience as the most reliable outlet for premier gaming content.”
