Coral seeks new creative chemistry with Wonderhood Studios

Coral has announced Wonderhood Studios as the winner of its advertising tender for a new creative agency.

The summer, the Entain Plc subsidiary triggered a ‘competitive pitch’ to manage the creative marketing account for its multi-million-pound UK advertising account.

Announced as winners, Wonderhood Studios will succeed BBH London as Coral’s new creative advertising agency working across all media formats alongside the7stars as lead media planning agency.

The competitive pitch was led by Entain’s interim Chief Marketing Officer, Jeremy Hemmings, who commented: “We were blown away by the level of quality, the powerful insights and huge commitment demonstrated by both Wonderhood and Atomic.

“It was the depth of Wonderhood’s evolutionary thinking and understanding of the unique space that Coral occupies in racing that makes them a great fit.  We’re looking forward to a creative and fun journey with Alex and his team.”

Former incumbent, BBH London had led Coral’s creative account since 2019, working with the operator on its post-Ladbrokes merger ‘brand and marketing refresh’.

2021 and 2022 saw Coral launch high impact campaigns, welcoming betting audiences back to live environments of the Cheltenham Festival and Premier League match days.

Founded in 2018 by former Channel 4 CEO David Abraham, Wonderhood Studios is an independent advertising and media agency, which has developed high impact campaigns for Starling Bank, Three Mobile, Made and Branston Pickle.

Welcoming Coral as a new client, Alex Best, Founder and CEO of Wonderhood Studios, said: “From the chemistry meeting, we knew straight away that we wanted to work with Coral. They are a brilliant, smart client with huge creative ambition. We’re incredibly proud of the work we presented – it’s fun, fame-driving and truly distinctive for the category. We’re chomping at the bit to get going.”
