Admiral Sportwetten continues Austrian football dominance

Austiran operator Admiral Sportwetten has continued to dominate the sports sponsorship space in its home market, linking with FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Running until 2023, the new contract sees Admiral replace bet-at-home, which had been the official partner of the Die Roten Bullen since 2018.

“It is with great pleasure that we are starting our new partnership with the Austrian series champions FC Red Bull Salzburg,” said Jürgen Irsigler, Admiral Sportwetten Managing Director, speaking to Austrian outlet sportbusiness.at.

“From the first discussions we were very impressed by the enormous professionalism of the club’s structure and how it implements projects creatively and quickly. It makes us proud that Admiral now has a partnership with the country’s most successful national and international club for years.”

Part of the Novomatic Group, Admiral Sportwetten has maintained a strong presence in the Austrian football space for some time, most recently becoming a partner of the top-flight Bundesliga, and also having held the title sponsorship of the Austrian national women’s team since 2017.

Salzburg is now the eighth Austrian Bundesliga club to officially partner with Admiral Sportwetten. Prior to linking with the 15-time Austiran champions, the firm inked ongoing agreements with SK Rapid Wien, FK Austria Wien, SK Sturm Graz, LASK, Admira, WAC and SKN St. Pölten.

“Admiral Sportwetten is not only the new Bundesliga competition sponsor, but has also been an official partner of FC Red Bull Salzburg since the start of the season,” added Stephan Reiter, Managing Director of FC Red Bull Salzburg.

“We are delighted about this commitment to Austrian football with a company that cares about the sport very much, and we hope that we will work together successfully.”

Commenting on the sponsorship, Irsigler added: “It is without a doubt another clear commitment to Austrian football and clearly underlines our motto to be one of the biggest ‘partners of sport’ in Austria.”
