Sky Betting & Gaming have launched the London Marathon #RequestATime feature, which enables the public to back themselves for charity.
For the first time ever, club and fun runners in the London Marathon this Sunday can place a bet on themselves to beat a time. If they don’t manage it, their stake will go straight to charity.
The first 1000 club and fun runners who fill in a survey about their training times will get a time to beat set by the Sky Bet traders.
They can place a maximum bet of £100 on themselves to beat that time, and if they fail to do so Sky Bet will donate their stake to charity.
Sandro Di Michele, Sky Betting & Gaming’s Head of PR, said; “We’re always looking for innovative ways to raise money for charity. We hope the extra incentive of backing themselves with a charity bet will help people get through 26.3 miles of blood, sweat and tears on Sunday.”
