Sky Bet has announced the details of its latest partnership with talkSPORT 2, a new 24-hour sports radio station which itself launches on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.
Broadcasting from Sky Bet’s box at the Festival on Tuesday March 15th, talkSPORT 2 will focus on a wide range of live sport including football, horse racing, cricket, tennis, golf, rugby and US sport as well as offering plenty of specialised magazine programmes that haven’t previously had a home on national commercial radio.
Sky Bet Head of PR Sandro Di Michele said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with talkSPORT 2 on this new station. We just can’t wait for the launch day at the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday, March 15 in the Sky Bet box and we feel this relationship is a natural synergy between two innovators in their sector.”
He added: “Live sport is extremely important to our business and the deal matches our ambitions and continued growth.”
Liam Fisher, National Radio Controller for UTV Media, said: “talkSPORT 2 is going to bring sports fans across the UK a much wider choice of sports coverage than they have ever had before. This is going to include live coverage from some of the world’s greatest sporting events, some of which we’ll be bringing to British commercial radio for the very first time.”
