Amaya announces senior management changes for Rational Group

Amaya Gaming has announced two senior management changes to subsidiary operator Rational Group the managing company of PokerStars and Full Tilt igaming brands.

The Rational Group senior management appointments see Israel Rosenthal appointed to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Gino Appiotti assuming the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

The promotions were decided following a management review. Rosenthal takes over leading Rational Group operations from Rafi Ashkenazi who has transitioned to a role within Amaya Gaming. Appiotti will replace former CMO Alex Payne, who has joined  e-commerce multi-national EBay Europe.

Appiotti has served for three years as President of Southern Europe for Rational brands, undertaking PokerStars diversification strategy and new product implementation for the region. The new CMO will lead the promotions and marketing of PokerStars new product catalogue which will include sports betting and online casino.

The  Senior management changes were internally announced last week to Rational Group staff.  Gino Appiotti will continue to work from Rational Group’s Malta office, Israel Rosenthal will head up group operations from the company’s Isle of Mann headquarters
