New Asian sports betting focused sportsbook and casino brand 138.com have signed a shirt sponsorship agreement with English Championship football club – Watford FC. 138.com owned by Isle of Mann based Xella Holdings have agreed to become the Herfordshire based football clubs shirt sponsor for the upcoming 2013-14 Championship Football Season. The 138.com comes with the announcement of a new club shirt manufactured by sports brand PUMA.
The new shirt sponsorship agreement was signed personally by Xela Holdings CEO – Garth Kimber a life long Watford FC fan, Kimber commented “We look forward to working with a great club for many successful years and feel privileged to be part of the Hornet family. We and can’t wait to meet all the loyal fans!” Scott Duxbury CEO of Watford FC commented on the new shirt sponsorship agreement “138.com is an ambitious brand and we are an ambitious football club. Watford FC narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League under manager Gianfranco Zola and are expected to be one of this years strong promotion candidates. 138.com one year sponsorship of Watford FC sees the sportsbook operator replace Sports Interactive/Sega on the front of Watford’s home and away strips. As mentioned previously on SBC news new UK advertising regulations will not allow gambling advertising on junior or child football shirts.
