188BET adds Champion of Champions Snooker to sport sponsorship portfolio

The 2017 Champion of Champions Snooker tournament is to receive a new title sponsor following an agreement between 188BET and Matchroom Sport.

This year’s competition, due to take place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena from Monday 6 – Sunday 12 November, is the latest addition to 188BET’s sport sponsorship portfolio, adding to recent deals with 2017 Champion Jockey Silvestre De Sousa and Super League side Wigan Warriors.

Nigel Singer, 188BET Managing Director, said: “I’m pleased to announce 188BET’s partnership with Matchroom Sport.  The Champion of Champions snooker tournament is one of the biggest events on the snooker calendar.

“Through our partnership, the 188BET Champions of Champions tournament will reach millions of snooker fans with live television coverage on multiple channels.”

In addition to being broadcast on ITV4 in the United Kingdom, the Champion of Champions will be aired worldwide on CCTV in China, Sky in New Zealand, OSN throughout the Middle East, StarHub in Singapore and Now TV in Hong Kong.

Barry Hearn, Chairman of Matchroom Sport, added: “We are delighted once again to be working with 188BET on what is one of the biggest events on the snooker calendar.

“The 188BET Champion of Champions is a blue riband event, and the millions of fans watching both in person at the Ricoh Arena [and] across the world on live TV, will be in for a treat of world class snooker from the first ball till the last.”

Featuring World Snooker tournament winners from the previous 12 months, the tournament will begin with a quartet of four man groups, the winners of which will progress to the semi finals.  The final is due to be contested over 19 frames, with the winner taking home the £100,000 cheque.

Top names due to feature include World Champion Mark Selby, Masters Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, defending champion John Higgins, World Open Champion Ding Junhui and Players Championship winner Judd Trump.
