SBC Summit North America Sets New Attendance Record Following a Successful Event

Organizers of SBC Summit North America are celebrating the biggest and most successful event since it launched in 2019.

This month’s event set a new standard as it returned bigger and stronger, with a record number of delegates and exhibitors gathering at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey to meet existing and new clients and exchange ideas with industry peers.

The industry’s largest event for North American sports betting and iGaming companies featured three days of high-level conference content with more than 250 speakers, a 50-booth exhibition, and a busy program of evening networking parties.

The conference and tradeshow made a lasting impression on the attendees, as an overwhelming number of delegates said they were very likely to recommend SBC Summit North America to colleagues and friends in the post-event survey.

One of the event highlights was the opening keynote fireside chat featuring FanDuel CEO Amy Howe, who the attendees listed as one of the top conference speakers in the post-event survey. The Gallery Furniture owner ‘Mattress Mack‘ and Bill Pascrell III (BP3), Partner at Princeton Public Affairs Group, were also popular among the survey respondents.

Attendee feedback

Bronwen Gregg (Senior Account Manager – Emerging Markets, Insight Global) called the event an “incredible week of networking and inspiring ideas within the iGaming & sports betting industry.” Benjamin Truman (Co-Founder and COO, MediaTroopers) said the event was “the ‘place-to-be’ for everyone involved or interested in the US and Canada markets.” Philip Gustafsson (Sales Director, Game Lounge Group) shared that the event made him more aware that “SBC is lit for the US market.”

Lindsay Slader (Managing Director – Gaming, GeoComply, commented: “It was by far the most intensive and reuniting conference so far for the US sports betting industry, with a fantastic turnout. This event was a great opportunity for the GeoComply team to connect with existing customers, industry partners, and colleagues.”

Another event attendee, Thomas Vermeulen (Head of Affiliates and International Markets, Smarkets), said: “This SBC event and (the industry) grew a lot since my first attendance in 2019. High quality as usual, from the Player Protection Symposium with an NBA legend to the panels and networking venues. Leagues, operators, tribes, suppliers, big media, and affiliates were all there. Great to see plenty of new people joining the industry as well!”

Other highlights

  • The SBC First Pitch North America competition saw five companies battling it out for the grand prize package worth $60,000, including an investment of $25,000 by HappyHour.io. The judges Anika Howard (President and CEO, WONDR NATION), David Williams (Principal, Las Vegas Sands), Edward King (Co-Founding Partner and Co-CIO, Acies Investments), Kathleen Coviello (Chief Economic Transformation Officer, NJEDA), and Matt Davey (CEO, Tekkorp Capital LLC) named BetSwap Limited the big winner of this year’s competition.
  • The SBC Awards North America celebrating the achievements of the thriving operators, affiliates, and suppliers from all the major disciplines was also a massive success. 600 guests gathered at Pier Sixty in Manhattan as the winners were announced during a lavish ceremony.
  • This year’s edition was also enriched by a selection of networking events, including the ‘Tribal Gaming Networking Brunch,’ the ‘African Americans in Gaming Networking Event’ and the ‘Global Gaming Women Networking Breakfast,’ allowing delegates to meet like-minded people and exchange ideas in an informal environment.

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder & CEO of SBC, said: “Last year, we decided to invest in our US-based team to make sure we continue to deliver the best exhibition, conference, and networking experience to the most exciting sports betting and iGaming market on the planet. I am delighted that this approach has paid dividends this year with the biggest and most popular SBC Summit North America ever, and I want to thank all our friends and partners for their support.

With next year’s event moving to a regular slot in May, we plan on putting on something even bigger next year. It will be unmissable,” Sojmark added.

Following a successful event, SBC Summit North America will return to the Meadowlands Exposition Center on May 9-11, 2023. Contact [email protected] for information about exhibition and sponsorship opportunities.
