The Game is on in the ‘Sports Betting Zone’: insights and products from the sports betting industry giants

The ‘Sports Betting Zone‘ at SBC Summit Barcelona will introduce visitors to the key decision-makers from major international operators and allow them to get a glance at the next generation of sportsbook products and services in the dedicated exhibition area.

On the conference side, the ‘Sports Betting Stage‘ will give the floor to some of the most influential figures in the industry to discuss the latest developments and innovations that are becoming increasingly relevant to the global sports betting industry.

Zone visitors can expect to meet C-level executives and Sportsbook, Product and Trading Directors. Several leading companies have already confirmed that they will be showcasing their latest offerings, products and services in the relevant area. Exhibiting companies include Altenar, BetConstruct, Betegy, Delasport, Golden Race, Pinnacle, Soft2Bet, Sportingtech, Symplify and Stats Perform.

SBC has divided the exhibition floor at Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc into five separate zones to make it easier for the delegates to navigate the area. Each zone features a separate networking lounge to facilitate in-person meetings and a dedicated conference stage to host discussions on the hottest industry topics in each vertical.

Apart from the ‘Sports Betting Zone,’ the delegates will get access to the ‘Casino & Gaming Zone,’ the ‘Affiliate, Marketing and Media Zone,’ the ‘Payments and Compliance Zone,’ and the ‘Emerging Tech, Blockchain and Metaverse Zone.’

The ‘Sports Betting Stage’ at SBC Summit Barcelona boasts an unrivalled speaker lineup discussing sports gamification, media rights and sports data, the operational differences between official and unofficial data, the future of sports betting in the era of inflation, responsible entertainment, and the opportunities of the upcoming Winter World Cup.

Here are some of the sessions that will be held during the two full conference days:

Wednesday, September 21: Future of Sports Betting conference track

The ‘Winter World Cup – acquisition or retention’ panel will focus on the Qatar World Cup and discuss how operators can apply the lessons learned from past disappointing tournaments and leverage the upcoming FIFA event. Matt Scarrott (Director of Emerging Markets, BetVictor), James McKay (Sportsbook Director, LiveScore, Virgin Bet & Roxor Gaming), Michal Hanak (Group Chief Sportsbook Officer, Fortuna Entertainment Group) and Billy Cook (Sportsbook Director, ComeOn) will be among the panellists.

Morten Pedersen Tonnesen (CCO & Board Member, Shape Games), Vakhtang Mdivani (Performance Marketing, Director, Adjarabet), and Richard Leask (Marketing Director, LiveScore Group) will be among the speakers covering sports gamification. The panel will focus on the latest innovations, technologies and partnerships shaping the future of sports gamification and on keeping Gen Z engaged.

Kissy Chandiramani (Councillor for Economy and Finance, City of Ceuta), Santiago Asensi (Managing Partner, Asensi Abogados) and Juan Espinosa (Founding Partner, Silverback Advocacy) will discuss how Spain’s autonomous city of Ceuta is becoming the new hub for sports betting brands in their effort to support LatAm market growth.

Thursday, September 22: ‘Sports Betting Innovation’ conference track

The ‘Keeping sportsbooks hot during the Winter World Cup’ panel session focuses on the World Cup as a tool for increasing engagement for betting operators. Panellists include Endre Nesset (Senior Vice President Global Sports, Coolbet), Anders Hauberg Nielsen (Global Head of Sportsbook, Betcris), Russell Candler (Managing Director, Star Sports), and Oren Cohen Shwartz (CEO, Delasport).

Another Thursday conference session will host a discussion on esports. The opening of New Jersey and Connecticut to esports betting provided an incentive to focus on the sector on a more global level. Panellists will discuss whether the increased capital and the more robust integrity framework will help esports live up to its potential. Aaron Speach (CEO, Ebet), Thomas Rosander (CEO, Luckbox), Jane Guan (CCO, Pinnacle), and Gal Ehrlich (CEO, BETER) will be among the speakers at the panel.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC, said: “The five-zone concept will allow visitors to focus on the industry verticals that really matter to them. The delegates interested in exploring the latest developments in sports betting can visit the ‘Sports Betting Zone’ bustling with exhibitors showcasing their latest products and innovations.

“I am also extremely happy with the conference content of the zone. We are securing top speakers from the sports betting industry. These people are an endless source of knowledge.”

SBC Summit Barcelona is taking place between September 20-22. You can get an Early Bird ticket that will grant you access to the exhibition marketplace and leading conference content for only €350.
