Tabcorp appoints Jamie Hart as Sun Bets Executive Director

Australian gambling operator Tabcorp has appointed Jamie Hart former Innovation Director of William Hill to lead its News UK joint venture Sun Bets as Executive Director.

Industry veteran Hart who left William Hill in March, following a senior executive restructure will be tasked with launching the new Sun Bets sports betting proposition for the UK market.

As Sun Bets Executive Director, Jamie Hart who led William Hill’s technology incubator ‘WHLabs’ will report directly to Tabcorp Chief Operating Officer Chris Nugent.

Issuing a corporate update in March, Tabcorp governance stated that the launch of Sun Bets was imminent as the gambling operator partners with News UK’s largest media asset ‘The Sun’.

It is believed that Sun Bets will be launched in the UK by the start of the 2016/17 Premier League football season (15 June). The joint venture represents Tabcorp’s corporate initiative to expand its services internationally beyond its core market of Australia.

Speaking on the new venture, Tabcorp CEO David Attenborough has stated that its new sportsbook will be supported by a nationwide marketing campaign, as the operator looks to establish Sun Bets within the saturated UK betting market.

News UK governance have publically backed the Sun Bets venture operated by Tabcorp, stating that it will be one of the company’s key revenue projects for its coming years.
