Having gained a 90% Ladbrokes shareholder approval, the UK Competition & Markets Authority (UK CMA) has opened its invitation for comment on the proposed £2.3 billion merger of Ladbrokes-Coral.
The UK CMA has requested for assistance regarding its review of the planned merger, seeking to research whether a joint enterprise may result in a substantial impacting of commercial competition within the UK gambling/betting sector
The competition authority has detailed that Ladbrokes and Coral governances’ have requested for the review to be fast tracked in accordance with UK CMA guidance and practices.
Invitation for comment and concerns regarding the Ladbrokes-Coral merger will be made available until 24 January.
At present the statutory decision deadline has been set for 15 February, the UK CMA will inform the public if the deadline changes, should the planned merger receive its fast track request.
