Record Q4 performance sees Betsson AB hit all 2014 targets

European sports betting operator Betsson AB reported its highest ever quarterly revenue performance (Q4 2014) of SEK 814 million (£64 million) as the operator closed 2014 strongly.

Betsson recorded Q4 2014, EBIT of SEK 256 million (£20 million), which helped maintain a strong net income performance of SEK 243 million (£19 million).

The operators strong quarterly performance was driven by improved player activity, as Betsson senior management revealed a 32% hike in customer deposits for the period totalling + 2.9 million, setting a quarterly record for the company. Betsson was further able to report total active player numers of +400,000 throughout its product channels

Betsson management were pleased with the performance of newly incorporated Dutch online casino brands Oranje and Kroon Casino, who had contributed SEK 89 million of group Q4 2014 revenues.

The record Q4 2014 performance saw Bettson AB post a 2014 full year revenue performance of SEK 3035 million (£240 million) up 23% on 2013 performance. Strong 2014 revenue performance was transferred to improved net income for Betsson, as the operator recorded SEK 770.6 million (£60.3 million)

CEO Magnus Silfverberg and Bettson governance released the following statement, ahead of the company’s 2014 end of year presentation

“Thanks to the long-term strategy with multiple brands and a common technical platform, Betsson has been able to deliver a higher growth than the market and the highest margin amongst listed competitors over several years.”

“In the fourth quarter, the Company continued to deliver on its strategy and noted all time highs for the majority of its KPIs. In addition, the Company is well positioned both for new regulations in key markets and in terms of current technological trends, primarily as regards mobile solutions”.

Betsson stated that in 2015, it would strive to continue its improved performance in Nordic and re-regulated European sports betting and igaming markets. At present the company is aiming for a 7 – 8% growth in corporate performance.
