XLMedia Plc has appointed Karen Tyrrell as the company’s new Chief People and Operations Officer, overseeing the culture and talent development resources of the London AIM-listed affiliate media publisher.
Tyrrell joins XLMedia’s executive management team from Flutter Entertainment Plc, where she most recently served as Interim CPO of the FTSE100 global gambling group.
A 15-year industry executive, Tyrrell has previously held senior positions in finance and operations including Managing Director of People & Culture at Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG).
Further experience has seen Tyrrell serve as Director of Transformation for SBG and Deputy Finance Director prior to the firm’s acquisition by Flutter Entertainment.
Commenting on joining XLMedia’s leadership team, Tyrrell stated: “I am delighted to join the team and look forward to working with everyone at XLMedia. In my career, I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to guide businesses during times of immense growth and industry evolution and I look forward to bringing that experience to the group. “
The appointment marks the first executive hire undertaken by XLMedia’s new Chief Executive David King, who joined the company in July.
The former CEO of Johnston Press Plc, King has been charged with spearheading XLMedia’s corporate transformation, in which the publisher continues to revise its European portfolio, whilst accelerating its US growth strategy.
