New UK bookmaker Sun Bets has confirmed that Managing Director Jamie Hart is set to leave the leadership position having chosen to join Romanian betting operator SuperBet (SuperBet.ro).
Both Sun Bets management and Jamie Hart confirmed the departure to SBC, with the operator having begun the search for a new leader.
Australian gambling operator Tabcorp, joint venture partner with News UK of Sun Bets had appointed Hart as MD in June 2016. Hart joined Sun Bets having previously served as Director of Innovation for William Hill, setting up the firms ‘WHLabs’ division in London.
Hart’s six-month tenure as MD of Sun Bets, saw the new bookmaker officially launch in the UK market last August ahead of the start of the English football season.
Joint venture partner Tabcorp has stated that it has spent approximately AUS $20 million (£12.2 million) on Sun Bets, making the new bookmaker its biggest ever international investment.
When contacted by SBC, Jamie Hart issued a short response of “I’m going to go and build something magnificent with Sacha Dragic”, the owner of SuperBet Romania.
